There are areas enemies don't spawn in or enter, so you can always catch a breather to plan next step. Enemies respawn, but they never respawn in original numbers so you don't have to repeat hard fights constantly. Healing items are limited, but there are healing stations spread across the world, so you can always heal to 100% for free. For example, ammo is limited, but energy weapons are not completely useless and can be recharged on charging stations spread across the world, so you are never forced into melee. Its more of horror space adventure game with minor RPG elements, inventory management and light crafting, but it mostly avoids bullshit elements from other games from genre. it will not prevent you from having fun or anything, but you know, why settle for the second best?Īlso, the modpack does not include the Shock Community Patch - something you really, really should be using, just for the smooth 32bit lighting and all the texture fixes that will make the new hd textures really shine if for nothing else. This doesn't mean that the modpack won't work - it just means that there will be a broken model here and there, a bunch of textures that won't really fit and similar. the modpack has been last updated half a year ago, so anything that has been released or updated in the last six months has no chance of being there. the systemshock org guide points at the latest versions of the mods [(some of them have been updated very recently, as we continue to improve their compatibility with the game and with one another.
